Agricultural Daybook kept by farmer [Henry Reeder] in Varick, N.Y. (1840-1865). About 150 pages of manuscript and another 75 blank pages. Includes numerous recipes for potted fish, sausages, writing ink, and pickled pork, plus instructions for grinding buckwheat, making candles, and brewing ale as well as about 50 pages of daily weather notes with comments, 1840-1865. Also addresses of suppliers, new clippings, etc. Manuscript in full vellum binding.
